       https://coinmarketcap.com/ will provide you with an overview of each project, and then you can research them further from there.
       https://academy.binance.com/en provides a lot of very useful general cryptocurrency related information aswell.

     Hello Mike! Coinbase and Coinbase Pro should still work in New York. But if you’re looking for options not available on those sites then I would recommend https://www.gemini.com/ – Very reasonable trading fees and should be available to New York residents aswell.
