Blockchain infrastructure

Cryptocurrency education handbook with an open book and connected blockchain blocks

What is blockchain infrastructure?

Blockchain infrastructure provides the services that applications need to operate: data feeds, storage, transaction processing, interoperability, identity and developer tooling. Some projects run their own networks; others serve existing blockchains. This category groups those enabling services, so its tokens should be compared by function rather than treated as one uniform market.

How it works

An oracle delivers outside information, a storage network preserves data, and a bridge coordinates assets or messages between chains. Each introduces different failure modes. Tokens may pay providers, secure a service through staking or govern its rules; in some designs the connection between usage and token demand is indirect. Look for working integrations, recurring demand and clear service economics. The number of announced partners says less than how deeply an application depends on the service and who pays for it.
